Chain optimisation of inland container shipping
The Port of Rotterdam has set up NextLogic for the purposes of chain optimisation of inland container shipping. The implementation of this new planning system will optimise the use of quays by inland vessels. In order to achieve this, product-like data is required.
Each year, an estimated 2,500,000 containers are transported by means of inland vessels. At the moment, planners only have insight into their own time schedules and available capacity, which means that they are often unable to tie up supply and demand well. Nextlogic changes this by offering an integrated time schedule for the processing of inland container vessels at terminals, barge operators and empty depots.
