Migration to the new Miles platform
Daimler Truck Financial Services initiated the Miles 2 Market project, aimed at rolling out their new financing platform, Miles, across multiple countries. The critical task was to migrate extensive data sets from legacy systems —including PHX, SAP ECM, CAMS, and various enrichments— to the Miles platform for the Italian and Spanish markets. Although the target system was the same for these countries, each country has its own set-up and country-specific requirements. The balance between standardisation and these customisations was continuously sought.
Comprehensive approach
Data eXcellence executed a comprehensive migration approach comprising:
- Migration strategy: Supported determination of a clear, actionable migration strategy aligned with DTFS’ operational needs.
- Tools and infrastructure: Deployed tools (DXF) and the supporting infrastructure essential for effective data migration.
- Data migration logic: Designed and implemented robust extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) logic.
- Data quality and analysis: Performed rigorous analyses and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Control framework: Established a structured control framework demonstrating data correctness and completeness through detailed control reports.
- Test, acceptance and production migrations: Executed thorough tests, trials, acceptance, and final production migrations.
