About UMCG
The University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG or UMC Groningen) is the joint venture that was set up on 13 January 2005 by the former University Hospital Groningen (AZG) and the faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen. The three core duties are healthcare, education and research and as such, the UMCG is responsible for patient care and the research and training policies.
The migration
The University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) implemented a new EPD, a highly complex and challenging operation during which systems are replaced with a new suite. One important part of this implementation is the data migration from old systems to a new suite. Client on behalf of UMCG: “A meticulous data migration is of vital importance in this case. An important success factor is the availability of a reliable and specialist partner”.
The UMCG chose DX as its partner for the implementation of the data migration. DX provides the specialist support for accessibility of the sources, measuring data quality and integrating and formatting the data. In addition, the UMCG opted for DX's Datamigration workbench as a platform for the completion of this data migration.
“The use of DX's Data Migration Workbench enables use to uniformly integrate the data from the complex landscape of source systems and to deliver it to the target system in the right format. DMW offers excellent facilities to complete this process in a controlled manner. Also, the commitment and specialist knowledge of DX adds a lot of value to the entire project!”
